Dear PLS experts,

When using plsgui to look at the results of an analysis, numbers are displayed in the Bootstrap Ratio section at the left of the figure (see attached screen capture)
 I have 3 questions:

1- the criterion for displaying is said to be the 95% percentile. Are the 5% lowest values are shown as negative and the 5% highest are shown are positive? Or is 2.5% used at both ends for as cutoff to have 0.05 criterion, two-tailed?

2- How can I find the Positive and Negative Thresholds in the result file or calculate them from information in the result file?

3- How can I view the BSR distributions?

You can get the result file and the screen capture of the display at: https://www.dropbox.com/t/ASSeIabgE5Olp79i

Thank you!

Gilles

Hi Gilles, see my responses below.  One thing to keep in mind is that the cutoffs are NOT statistical tests. Its for display only.

1- the criterion for displaying is said to be the 95% percentile. Are the 5% lowest values are shown as negative and the 5% highest are shown are positive? Or is 2.5% used at both ends for as cutoff to have 0.05 criterion, two-tailed?

For the display its actually the upper and lower 5% of the distributions.

2- How can I find the Positive and Negative Thresholds in the result file or calculate them from information in the result file?

in results.boot_result.compare you will find the boostrap ratios for each LV

3- How can I view the BSR distributions?

you can play the BSR distributions from results.boot_result.compare using the histogram function in Matlab

cheers

Randy
