Hi,

Sorry if this is a question that has been answered elsewhere, but I'm having a little trouble understanding the relationship between the BSR and Brain LV plots. Right now, I have some Behavioral PLS results that I'm looking at. The BSR plot shows some significance, but the BLV plot shows way more significance (in the same areas, but larger clusters, sometimes much larger). Is it reasonable to set a more conservative threshold in the BLV plot view? How do I go about choosing that threshold? Any relevant literature would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Kayleigh

The BLV plot shows the actual parameter estimates for each voxel (i.e., the weights on the singular vector) so you really can't apply a consistent threshold.  The plot is mainly to get an idea of the range of parameters and helps to interpret the bootstrap ratio image

So, when preparing results for publication, should I use the BLV plot or the BSR plot? The FAQ says BLV but if it's just used to interpret the BSR then I should be reporting the BSR plot (and values for clusters, etc.)? I'm also unclear on what it means to use the BLV plot to interpret the BSR plot.

Again, for my behavioral PLS analyses, the BSR plot seems much more conservative than the BLV plot. Clusters appear to be in the same areas, but they take up much more space (consist of more voxels) in the BLV plot. The opposite is true for my task PLS analyses (BSR plots have larger clusters than BLV plots). I want to be sure I'm reporting the correct values.

BSR - the BLV's are unthresholded parameter maps (like regression coeffcients), whereas the BSR are the ratios of BLV to their standard errors.
