Hi, I am having some issues changing one of the pre-set electrode location files.  As suggested under the FAQ section, I am attempting to change the file "erp_loc_besa148.mat" to instead reflect our standard 10/20 64-channel biosemi ActiveTwo system. I have the electrode names and x, y coordinates, but I'm unsure how to actually change and save the channel names.  I opened the "chan_nam" file in Matlab, but there doesn't seem to be any option to edit this file.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

John

You can do one of two things.

1) Since you are using the 10/20 system, the electrode names/approximate locations should match the BESA/BESAThetaPhi locations. Once your subjects are selected, select "EditChannelOrder" and you should see a list of electrode names - select each one, in the order they appear in your datafile.  (Figure 6 in the user guide).

(If you'd rather not select them by hand, you can load erp_loc_besa148.txt into an editor, and save a text file with the channels you need (in the order you need). Note: save only the electrode "number" in the last column. Then in "EditChannelOrder" select File>LoadFromTextFile. )

2) Make your own layout - this is described in the PLS help, just after figure 6.

Great! Thanks Nancy, I just tried making the new text file and it works great.  Much appreciated.
