I have recently been introduced to the pls application and am
investigating the possibility of applying its analysis methods to
multifocal electroretinograph results. Currently the application seems
suited to the data we collect, 103 waveforms from a two dimensional
hexagonal grid across the central retina. However I have run into a
problem creating my datamat files with the correct spatial locations for
the waveforms. I have been trying to modify the erp_egi_chan128.mat file
to reflect the positions of my recordings but I am puzzled by the
coordinate system used in the chans_loc array and I am wondering if you
can shed some light on this.
Thanks in advance
Tom

Hi Tom..
these are derived from the BESA "theta/phi" coordinates for the 10-10/10-20 system of ERP channel locations.

These are used only for display purposes.

One possible solution is to pick the channel names/locations that most closely match the locations of your sensors and "pretend" you are using scalp locations

You may also want to check into the EGI and MEG coordinate mat-files to see if those sets are easier for you to work with.

cheers
Nancy
